Wheelchair Rugby Relaunching
In July
Wednesday July 6 2010
Wheelchair Sports WA is
set to re-launch the state wheelchair rugby
competition for 2010 and are therefore wanting
to
promote this to all
members as an option for you to participate in a
fun, action packed sport. The sport of
wheelchair rugby is
designed for people
with a disability in both their upper and lower
limbs (predominantly quadriplegics), however to
take part
and have fun at a local
level everyone is welcome, whether you have a
disability or not.
Wheelchair Sports WA
has a number of club wheelchairs for you to use,
so you don’t need to have your own equipment to
take part. All you need
to do is to have the desire to get active, have
fun, meet new people and try something
completely
different.
For those who have
never played the sport before and are wanting to
learn the basic rules before committing to
playing in the
competition, Peter
‘Yogi’ Houlis (WA state coach) will be holding a
series of come’n’try sessions on Tuesday
evenings
commencing at 6.30pm at
the Herb Graham Recreation Centre.
If you are interesting
in being involved in wheelchair rugby, please
contact Joel or Gary in the Sports office or
email Yogi direct
