WSWA Wheely Fun School Holiday Program.
Tuesday 6 July 2010
On July 6th the kids from Wheelchair
Sports WA Joel, Samuel, Taishar, Andrew, Lochan
and Ryan joined
the kids from PMH Ella, Jodi, Nicole, Zachary,
Naomi, Tyla and Elizabeth in a fun day of
different sports that
the kids had fun trying out. They played soccer,
Tee ball and British bulldog.

Before the kids from PMH arrived the others
played a game of soccer which they all enjoyed a
lot, the lead
scorers were Joel and Samuel with great
defensive work from Ryan, Lochan and Taishar.
The kids had a
great time playing and the score was very close
at the end of the game just before morning tea.
After morning tea the kids had a chance to
decorate their own hats and drink bottles which
they had great
fun in doing. We then set up Tee ball for the
kids and let them have a few practice hits
before we got them
into a game, we got the parents involved and
mixed up the teams. They showed great attitude
towards
playing and helped each other get involved which
was great to see. Towards the end of the game
the kids
from PMH arrived and we packed up and went in
for lunch.
After lunch Shawn Redhage and Jesse Wagstaff
from the Perth Wildcats came down to help out
and join in
the fun. After a few rounds of British bulldog
in which the kids enjoyed picking on Shawn and
Jessie they
started a new game of soccer which everyone got
involved in. This game was also very close and
by the end
of it everyone was exhausted.

The kids (big and small) then went in to have
some afternoon tea in which there were a few
photo’s taken
before Shawn and Jesse had to leave. The kids
then watched a movie which didn’t last long
before they
were back out on the court shooting around and
having fun until they were dragged away by their
parents.

The day was a great experience and everyone had
a great time getting involved and having fun, I
would like
to thank the volunteers’ from little dribblers
Mark Lovell, Harrison Lovell and Greg Melvin,
head coach for the
WHEELCATS and the Junior Black Ducks Lee Nott,
Shawn Redhage and Jesse Wagstaff from the Perth
Wildcats, Helen Herbert, Judy Cowper and Wayne
Robins for coming down and making the day the
great
success that it was.
