The Australian Paralypmic Sailing Team has been sailing out of WA since Sydney 2000 Paralympics, when Noel Robins, Jamie Dunross and Graham Martin won gold in the 2000 paralympics!
The Sailability programme operating at Royal Perth Yacht Club aims to provide sailing opportunities for all people regardless of their ability. The programme is a structured co-operation between the Royal Perth Yacht club’s Sailability committee and Sailability WA, which operates with the aid of a Sailability co-ordinator and a wide base of safety trained volunteers interested in sharing their love of sailing with people with disabilities.
RPYC Sailability began following the Gold Medal success at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games when it was decided by the General Committee to develop a programme to encourage people with disabilities to participate in all manner of Club activities.
